Since farmers Piet and Laura Schoeman bought the farm Buffelsdrift in 2003, Laura has carried a heartfelt dream: to create a safe, nurturing haven where young children in the community can receive love, care, and a strong educational foundation.

Although she had no formal training in education, she remained determined to turn this vision into reality. Finding a suitable building proved challenging at first, and for years the idea seemed just out of reach. But Laura never let go of her dream. Nearly a decade later, an opportunity finally arose when a local teacher approached her in search of a space to start a school—and that’s where the journey truly began.

Since then, Vreugdevoetjies has grown into a place of hope and transformation for young children in the community. Today, the school cares for nearly 100 children between the ages of 1 and 6, giving them not only a safe environment but also the opportunity to dream, learn, and thrive.

At the heart of this initiative lies a deep sense of social responsibility. We believe that by investing our time, energy, and resources into the next generation, we can help uplift this underprivileged community and empower its children to make positive, life-changing choices. It is a privilege for us to share this journey with our guests and to be part of something that creates lasting impact.
